Hi, I’m Samasati [pronounced Sa-Ma-Sa-Tee] and I am the creator of Body of Kiya

I’ve been an avid creator ever since I can remember. Growing up with a mother who loves to colourfully DIY just about everything, I was lucky enough to receive encouragement for my own creativity from the get go. Fun fact: I learned how to use a hot glue gun before I learned how to ride a two-wheel bicycle.

Outside of Body of Kiya, I work full time as a Registered Counsellor and Astrologer (www.samasatikiya.com) as well as write & record music. Within the world of Kiya, I get to explore multi-faceted artistry. This includes: making jewelry, candles and candle molds, ceramics/pottery, painting, writing poetry, etc. I have a lot of interests, so I do a lot of things.

Body of Kiya ultimately began as a jewelry hobby, but quickly gained momentum as my creative interests began expanding. Somewhere along the way, body positivity became a movement that I wanted to get behind, and thus began the creation of many of the more “explicit” art I have (see “The Womb Collection”). That being said, the idea of this art is to promote body neutrality and body acceptance. It is not meant to overly sexualize bodies.

The primary essence of the work I do in every area of my life is to remind people of their inherent worthiness of love. In my own life I have struggled with expressing my authenticity, afraid that it would cause me abandonment. Over many years of healing, I have been privileged to learn how to embody my colourful true self with much greater ease — something that comes through in my whimsical creations — and now I am hoping Body of Kiya can give permission to others to embrace their true expression as well.
